Writing or Typing?

I'm sitting here working on a post for tomorrow, lost in thought, when my mom comes in and we have this very short conversation:
Mom: What are you doing?

Me: I'm writing.

Mom: If you're using your keyboard are you actually writing.. or are you typing?

Me: I... don't really know.
So which is it? Am I writing? Typing? My mom later suggested that maybe I'm composing. What are your thoughts?

This is one of those things you ponder at night. And no, I don't have an answer. My mom has been asking me for a week when I'm gonna blog... lol At least *she* reads it! And you did, too... so thanks for your comment! :)

You can't be composing something because that's done when writing music. You're actually "triting". (That's "writing" and "typying" put together. You could do "wypying"...but that's what you do when someone makes a mess, so I chose triting.)

Does that help?

I'd say it's "writing" - and I'm a writer, so I'd know. :P

No, I think it's still writing. There can be multiple meanings for a word, you know. :)

Yeah, I would say writing as well. Although, composing sounds more "important" and "grown up." ;)
